Well, since it is a new year, I figured it's (past) time for a new post....
Our holidays were good, but our younger children are ungrateful. If not ungrateful, maybe they are just unwilling to pick up (and take good care of ) their stuff. We ended up taking ALL of the toys they got for Christmas and put them in the attic because they were already breaking them and leaving them out all over the place. We let them choose one each to keep out and the rest got put up. We gave Pistol one more yesterday and so far, it has given the other two inspiration to put up their stuff when they are done or at least when we ask them to. Who knows, maybe they will be up there for so long we can give them to them again NEXT Christmas?!
It has been nice having #1 home. Somehow, he managed to pull a 3.75 for the semester. That was after MAJOR struggles in the first half of the semester. Amazing! We are waiting on financial aid offers to come through before he decides where he will go next year. Keep your fingers crossed! I'm not ready for him to go back, but that is what he has to do, so....
Ed has done football and now basketball this year. It is the first year they are allowed to participate in 'athletics' instead of 'PE'. He has enjoyed it and is getting some muscle definition. Whoo Hooo! On the other hand, karate (kuk sool) has fallen off. He is just too tired to do that after spending 1.5 to 2 hrs in athletics. We hope he will start it back up after basketball is over.
Pistol is doing well in kinder. He has some friends, but is sometimes bored at school since he learned much of it last year. His behavior is somewhat better, but still has those awful meltdowns over little things. But he is very sweet and loving.
The twinadoes still crack us up. They know entirely too much that is above the level where they should be. For example, one day at mother's day out, Snooty told his teacher that he was "allergic" to babies. Today, I asked him if he was still "allergic" to babies and he said, "No, I'm allergic to trees." #1 asked,"what does 'allergic' mean?" "It is when you get too close to something and you 'ahh chooo'." Ok, I guess he DOES know what it means.
One of our household guests will be getting married on Feb 6 and moving out. The other will stay with us for a little while longer yet. I wish her the best!

"Allergic to babies" is priceless! Mine are actually already planning to reproduce and already have husbands lined up.
