Well, here I am, joining the millions of people writing down their thoughts and prose on the internet by creating a blog. My reasonings for this are twofold.
1. I want an easy way to keep in touch with our family and for our family to keep in touch with us. I would love to talk to each of you everyday to tell you the crazy things that go on around here, but it just can't happen. When I do talk to you and you ask , "So what's new?" and I answer, "Oh, nothing much. Same ol' same ol'". We both know that that is probably not true, It just puts me on the spot and I can't think of something new to tell you, even though there is probably LOTS. Now, you can go here, read it, post a reply or give me a call. Yay!
2. Secondly, I have wanted to keep a journal of all of the funny things the kids have said or done for a lONG time. I just have never gotten around to it. I have waited long enough and forgotten WAY to much by now. This will give me a forum to jot down all of those things that I want to remember so that I can embarass them with it later. I realize that they grow so fast and I want to cherish each moment and remember everything (well, almost everything). This will be like my online camera into our lives. Hope you all enjoy it.
A few things to keep in mind. I think there is a way to "subscribe" to our blog so that you get an email notice every time I write something. PLEASE do that. I will try to figure out how that works and let you know. If you figure it out, please let me know so that I can tell everyone else.
Next, because of the omni-presence of the Internet, I have heard from several sources not to use the kid's real names because it could come back to haunt them later when it comes time for college and job applications. So, I will be using "code" names for everyone. I think it will be fairly apparent to everyone who is who, but if you're unclear, just shoot me an email or give me a call. For example, I will be the Queen Bee.
Lastly, please excuse any spelling or typing error that may appear. I was never Spelling Bee Queen.
This will be an evolving project. I have no idea how much I will actually post or not, so stay tuned...
